Take On The Challenge

Take On The Challenge

Are YOU ready to take on the Hangman Challenge?

What is this about?

The Hangman challenge takes those who have no experience or only experience in one area either like K1/Kickboxing or ground fighting. This program gives them the tools to fight in a novice MMA match in April 2018.
Dan Hooker, one of New Zealand’s premier UFC fighters, and Matt Vaile XFC Champion bring their vast MMA knowledge to fighters on this program.

Is there an age limit and when does training start?

For this challenge we are restricting the age from 18 years old up to 39 years old (on fight day). These are strict age cut offs due to the type of event you are training for.
Training starts in September, and registrations close October.

Where is the training?

For this challenge we are working with two clubs – Waikato BJJ and Dynamic Martial Arts – and to be part of the challenge you must join these clubs and train in the programs provided. Each coach will be using the skills of the host club to build a program for you. Training at other clubs during this program is not allowed.

What are the registration fees?

Registration fees are $120 which includes your Hangman Challenge singlet and shorts and this needs to be paid for on registration day via eftpos or cash (please see our Facebook events for these dates). We will be ordering the Hangman Challenge singlets and shorts after registration so we can ensure everyone gets the correct size. Additional singlets and shorts can be ordered and paid for on the registration day – $30 per extra singlet and $60 per extra shorts. As training for the Hangman Challenge is a 6 month commitment, you do also need to be signed up with Waikato BJJ or Dynamic Martial Arts Silverdale in order to train there, please see your nearest club for their fees.

Do I need a medical?

You will be required to supply a blood report after a month of training and then four weeks prior to the event you will be required to provide medical clearance.
You may requested at anytime during the program to provide a medical clearance letter by the organisers.

What are the training requirements and do I fight before?

As this is a lot more full on than our normal programs we will be expecting those to take part to train hard, this will be 3 nights a week with some 2 hour sessions.
We will be looking at all fighters with no experience to fight in our Bucketlist Fighter Novice Kickboxing event on November 25th, along with our more experienced fighters fighting too.
